Oliver deserves some kind of award. He pulled off quite a task over the weekend. New Years Eve was his wife, Beth’s, birthday and he cooked up a marvelous scheme for all of us to surprise her in Washington, DC. There were lots of people involved and I do not know how in the world Beth didn’t find out because I almost spilled the beans at least five times, but Oliver did it! We genuinely surprised her. The look on her face says it all.
The surprise happened at approximately 5:45pm on NYE and we had a great evening out in our nation’s capitol.
We had cocktails and apps at RJ’s…
A delicious dinner at West End Bistro…
Toasted to 2012 at Marvin…
And closed out the night with a good old fashioned dance party back at RJ’s. It was mostly just the girls dancing around the living room with this awesome light stick that was called the Rix Rocket. We had the time of our lives.
It’s weekends like these that reminds me how lucky I am to have such a great group of best friends. We might not all live in the same city or talk on the phone every week, but when we get together it’s like no time has passed.
I can’t imagine ringing in 2012 any other way. Happy New Year!
Love this recap! Thank you SOO SOO much for coming to DC and being part of the most amazing birthday surprise!!
Love this post! Those pictures of Beth’s “surprised face” are classic!
