Today is my last day working at the theatre. I gave my notice a little over two weeks ago and it was probably one of the hardest things I have ever had to do. I’m not particularly good at confrontation and sharing news that seems somewhat out of the blue isn’t what I call fun. I was absolutely terrified because I love my boss and didn’t want to let her down, but it had to be done and is a rite of passage that all adults must go through, I suppose.
I have loved my time at the theatre; I have met so many amazing people, gone on fun trips to New York City, Seattle and Colorado Springs, and made lots of unforgettable memories. But, it is time for a change. I have worked there for a little over five years and have felt the itch for something new.
An opportunity that I was extremely interested in came along about a month and a half ago, so I applied with the encouragement from a friend. After a few rounds of interviews, they offered me the job and I accepted the position. I’ll be working at an advertising agency in Durham and I couldn’t be more excited about it. The company seems like an amazing place to work and I can’t wait to learn a lot and hone my skills at a place full of smart people.
I’ll be taking a few days off to rest and regroup and then I start on Monday. I’m scared and excited and ready for this new adventure! ![]()
